About Fetal Cardiac Care
Fetal Cardiac Care is a personal initiative by Dr Mridul Agarwal, a pediatric cardiologist specialising in fetal echocardiography and pediatric cardiac care. From the name and logo to the design and every post published here, this resource has been conceived, built, and maintained by one person.
The posts reflect individual clinical experience and perspective. However, the thinking behind them has inevitably been shaped by years of working alongside colleagues in fetal medicine, obstetrics, genetics, cardiac surgery, and neonatology. Good clinical judgement rarely forms in isolation.
The site began as a resource for patients — a place where a family facing an unexpected finding on their baby’s heart scan could find honest, clear information without unnecessary alarm. That remains its core purpose. Over time, it has also grown into a resource for health professionals, including obstetricians, fetal medicine specialists, and sonographers, seeking practical guidance on fetal cardiac findings.

If something here answers your question, that is exactly what this was built for. If it does not, you are welcome to reach out directly.
Dr Agarwal works as part of a dedicated team in Pediatric Cardiac Sciences — bringing together specialists in fetal echocardiographers, pediatric cardiology, Pediatric cardiac anesthesia, pediatric cardiac intensive care, and cardiac surgery. A team that understands the smallest of hearts and operates on them when needed.
